In the Reichstag building first the Reichstag of the German empire and afterwards the parliament of the Weimar republic was accommodated. After the reunion the meeting for the choice of the German Federal President takes place here every 5 years since 1994. Since 1999 the Reichstag is the official seat of the German Bundestag.
