The former electoral stable, which is called Johanneum, is located south-eastwards of the Residence Castle. It was build between 1586 and 1590 on demand of elector Christian the First for the elector’s horses and coaches. Like many other buildings in this time, it was build in the style of the renaissance, but in the course of time it lost a lot of its original pomp.
